Closing thoughts and online play
Monster Hunter: World is still has the same incredible co-op as when it first launched on consoles earlier this year. While the PC version appears to be missing the loads of free DLC the console version have accrued in the meantime, everything else appears to be intact. For co-op, Monster Hunter: World offers a nice option in its menu: «Copy Session ID.» This drops a code like «3pseaHNaZrB» into your clipboard, which you can share to invite other players to your hunt once you’ve setup an online session. We tried this out and it worked easily, though there are some elements of MHW’s online structure that remain confusing.
Once we got in a session together, the game performed flawlessly, with no lag or other issues. We did find the in-game voice chat to be quiet and low quality, and after a few minutes switched over to chatting on Discord. Much better. Here’s another nice touch: you can pick a Steam group to show off, and it’ll display that group’s icon next to your name. PC Gamer represent!
If you’re looking for smooth gameplay, the PC version of Monster Hunter: World has the advantage of providing a lot more control over the graphics options. You also have plenty of options for faster hardware, if you care to throw money at the problem. With a decent PC you can lock in 60fps by dropping a few settings, whereas on consoles that’s not really an option. There’s also potential for future patches and optimizations to help the PC version stand out more, though that’s more likely to come via mods than via patches.
If you’re looking to get into Monster Hunter: World on PC, the good news is that it can be played at 30fps even on older hardware. If you’re used to 60fps gaming, however, plan on 1080p and lower settings, or bring some beefy hardware to the party. That’s not as bad as it might sound, though, because even at medium quality the game looks quite good.
Bazelgeuse

Odds are you’ll have already encountered several dozen Bazelgeuse by the time you get a quest for one. These things pop up everywhere and love starting turf wars with the monster you’re actually trying to hunt, which can get a little annoying. Turns out, Bazelgeuse are just as annoying to fight. Their attacks themselves are slow and predictable, but the pinecone-like bombs that fall off them are a huge hassle. When Bazelgeuse is enraged, these will detonate almost instantly, and they deal major damage. Watch out for them as best you can, and flash Bazelgeuse out of the sky when he flies up for his iconic bombing run.

Nergigante

Nergigante is a glass cannon: he both deals and receives high damage. Once you get him to enrage, he’ll start sprouting white spikes all over his body. He can grow spikes on his front legs, his head, his wings, and his tail. Wherever those spikes are, that’s the area you want to attack. You’ll deal more damage to those spikes, and if you break them, you’ll trip and stun Nergigante for several seconds. Try not to let those spikes stay up, otherwise they’ll harden into black spikes, which will cause your attacks to bounce and which fuel Nergigante’s most powerful attacks. This is one fight where aggression pays off big time.

Аньянат является совершенно новым монстром для мира Monster Hunter. По виду это чудовище напоминает обычного тиранозавра из фильма «Парк Юрского периода». Поначалу этот монстр будет представлен как некое самое опасное существо в Древнем лесу, но по мере прохождения вы поймете, что Аньянат — лишь малая доля того, что предстоит пережить охотнику
Обратите внимание, Аньянат имеет хороший нюх, а поэтому может отыскать вас даже в кустах. Кроме того, он быстро бегает, из-за чего удрать от него довольно проблематично
К счастью, есть у Аньяната и несколько слабостей: хвост и голова. На первых порах поединка бейте чудовище по его хвосту или верхней части головы. Большой яграс: сильные и слабые стороны
С Большим яграсом вы встретитесь уже в самом начале игры. Поначалу монстр может казаться сложным, но, по сути, он является одним из самых слабых. Чудовище относится к классу клыкастых виверн и обитает в Древнем лесу. Выследить монстра довольно легко, достаточно просто посмотреть на места обитания, указанные на карте.
Вступив в битву с Большим яграсом, старайтесь наносить удары в область живота (если монстр недавно поел, урон будет увеличен). Также можете смело атаковать по голове и передним лапам чудовища. Большой яграс наиболее сильно боится огня, грозы и льда.

Sword and Shield
Это одно из лучших оружий для новичков. Набор из меча и щита хорошо сбалансирован и может похвастать мобильностью, скоростью и дополнительной защитой благодаря небольшому крепкому щиту. Меч и Щит позволяет наносить много быстрых комбо на земле и в воздухе. Во время прыжка кроме ударов мечом, можно нанести сильный удар щитом по голове, оглушив жертву.
Такой набор вооружения подойдет не только для командной игры, но и соло игроков. Высокая мобильность и возможность быстро использовать предметы неимоверно полезны для охоты в одиночку, а оглушение врага и нанесение различных эффектов состояния помогут в бою с напарниками.
Кирин: сильные и слабые стороны
Несмотря на то, что Кирин это древний дракон, по внешнему виду он больше похож на единорога, пропитанного силой грома. Выследить Кирина довольно сложно, так как это очень редкое чудовище в игре. Однако если вам удалось найти след монстра, будьте готовы к ожесточенной битве. Стоит отметить, что Кирина можно встретить только в определенных квестах, одним из которых является «Унесенные вспышкой».
При битве с монстром используйте стихии огня, воды и льда. Ни в коем случае не пользуйтесь грозой, поскольку у Кирина есть защита против этой стихии. Самым уязвимым местом врага является его рог — бейте именно в эту область.

Pukei-Pukei

Pukei-Pukei is the first poisonous monster you’ll fight. He spits globs of poison all over the place, especially when he’s enraged. You can avoid these by staying behind him or to his side, which also lets you hit his weak wings and tail. If you’re a hammer user or just want to hit the head, be mindful of his charging tongue attack as well. Pukei-Pukei also has an odd habit of foraging for food in the middle of a fight. Save some slinger ammo for these moments. You can shoot him in the face to stun him temporarily.

Barroth

Barroth is a big hammer-headed behemoth that loves to charge and sling mud everywhere. Focus on stripping his mud armor first, as it will nullify his mud slinging attack and turn it into a huge opening. If you get caught in a mud pile, try to jump out of it before you get run over. Scarf down a nullberry if you get hit with waterblight, otherwise your stamina will be sapped. Small weapons like the sword and shield and dual blades are great for hitting his arms. If you use a larger weapon like the longsword, you’ll have an easier time hitting his legs and tail, since you risk bouncing off his head when going for the arms. Barroth is extremely weak to paralysis, and paralyzing him can create a big opening to sever his tail or clean his mud armor. He also roars a lot, so the armor skill Earplugs is nice to have.

Gunlance

Отойти подальше и выстрелить по зверю издалека не получится. Помимо копья герой оснащен одним из самых мощных щитов в игре. Он пригодится, потому что из-за малой мобильности вам придется сосредоточиться на блокировке атак.
После нескольких выстрелов нужно перезаряжать копье, а рядом со шкалой количества патронов есть еще один бар. Когда он накапливается, начинается альтернативная комбо-атака со взрывным окончанием. Шикарный вариант, чтобы красиво закончить бой.

Lance

Копье отличный выбор для одиночных игроков. Его оборонительные свойства не раз спасут вам жизнь. При этом и урон остается внушительным. При командной охоте игрок с копьем и щитом идеально подходит на роль танка, отвлекая животное на себя.
Plans For North America
Capcom knows very well MH does not do nearly as well as it does in Japan and this is what they plan to do about it:
- «It’s no secret that, in Japan, Monster Hunter is a phenomenon along the same lines as Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh; One in five PSP owners in Japan has a copy of one of the Monster Hunter games! You can see people playing it everywhere; on street corners in Akihabara, on the train, waiting in line to get into the Capcom store at TGS, on school campuses (not during class, mind you) and on and on. The publishing company that puts out Famitsu released a Monster Hunter strategy guide that was over 1,000 pages! Outside of Japan, the series hasn’t really caught on in the same way. We’ve done respectable business with the games we’ve released so far on PS2 and PSP. We certainly haven’t posted numbers in North America as they have done in Japan – Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for the PSP has sold in excess of 2 million units there – but the games have done well. That being said, Capcom is going to be making a major commitment to the Monster Hunter brand over the next two years in the west. Expect to see a significant marketing program dedicated to educating and enthralling gamers of both casual and hardcore natures. We’re not going to let up until there are as many people playing here in North America as there are in Japan! While we have not made specific announcements regarding Monster Hunter 3 in North America (or Europe, for that matter) to date, you can bet we’ll be talking more about it in the future.«

Kushala Daora

Like Rathalos, Kushala Daora is a flash pod glutton. She flies all the time, and you’re going to need plenty of flash pods to pin her down. Take care not to flash her inside one of the twisters she summons though, otherwise you won’t be able to hit her while she’s downed. You can also keep her grounded by hitting her head: she’ll get stunned just like Teostra. Blast weapons are great for this. Focus on breaking her head, as this will disable her more powerful wind attacks.

Dual Blades
Клинки — очень быстрое легкое оружие, которое отлично подходит для дебаффа монстра. Odogaron is the only monster in the game that causes bleeding, and thank goodness for that, because it’s a painful status ailment. You’ll take heavy damage over time while bleeding, and the only natural way to cure it is by crouching for several seconds—which Odogaron isn’t likely to let you do—so bring some Astera jerky to patch yourself up. Be mindful of his faint attack: sometimes when you ‘trip’ him, he’ll actually counter with a mean bite. He’s very weak to paralysis.

Tobi Kadachi

Tobi Kadachi’s tail is a huge threat, but it’s also a massive weak spot if you can get after it. Be careful of his thunder attacks. If you get hit with too many, you’ll contract thunderblight, which makes you easy to stun. Take a nullberry to cure it. When he does his tail front-flip, he’ll stand in place for a moment afterward, which is a good time to lay into him. And when he leaps on trees to prepare for his diving tail attack, you can hit his tail to knock him off and stun him for a good while.

Changes/Additions
- Monster Hunter Tri is currently one of the only two games that include swimming and underwater combat. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd does not include this feature and as such the previously underwater areas have been modified or removed. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate brings back the underwater combat that originated in this game along with other new features.
- The Bow, Gunlance, Hunting Horn and Dual Swords weapon classes are not included in Monster Hunter Tri. It is currently unknown why these weapons were chosen to not be implemented as the disc space on a Wii disc can easily hold 7-10 times as much data as is usually inscribed on it. It might have been Capcom’s attempt at restoring the game to its core elements. Although, the Bow is an entirely different class of weapon, unlike the others, which are modified versions of existing weapons, so some are wondering why it was removed. However, a brand new weapon has been added: the Switch Axe. In addition this is the first game to feature customizable Bowguns, each made from an individually interchangeable stock, barrel, and frame.
- Monster Hunter Tri is the first 3rd generation game. Every area is new, there are no subspecies and most monsters from previous games are not included. Rathian, Rathalos and Diablos are the only returning large monsters, while Felyne, Melynx, Aptonoth, Popo and Kelbi are the only returning small monsters.
- Players have the option to hunt in the (in single player); a free-hunting area with no time limit or penalty for fainting. Many large monsters can be hunted consecutively in this area for their carves. «Freehunting» requires no Quest signup. Because of this, there are no quest rewards (supply items can only be found by slaying Felynes and Melynx). Instead, commodity items can be obtained from Junior and traded for rare items via the Argosy or sold for money. Monsters that appear in the Moga Woods include the Great Jaggi, Qurupeco, Royal Ludroth, Rathian, Lagiacrus, and Rathalos.
- Armour can now be improved from low rank to high rank, improving rarity, pigment and defense. The improved armor has slightly different resistances as the high rank armor crafted directly. Doing this uses less materials than creating the armor.

Чтобы успешно завершить опрокидывание, используйте закрепление в моменты атак, не пытайтесь никуда перепрыгивать, это не поможет.

Как в первой, так и во второй фазе боя с Шара-ишвалдой присутствуют скалы-ловушки, которые могут быть использованы для нанесения огромного урона. Необходимо толкнуть Шара-ишвалду в правильном направлении (ловушки указаны на карте), при столкновении со стеной в области ловушки произойдет обрушение большой груды камней.

Newly introduced in Monster Hunter: World are cloak items called Mantles that provide beneficial effects. The Ghillie Mantle conceals hunters from enemy view temporarily. The effect expires if you perform an attack or take damage.. The Glider Mantle increases jump airtime and grants the power to ride strong winds in various areas as well as making it easier to mount monsters.. The Rocksteady Mantle eliminates damage reactions, prevents wind effects, protects the hunter’s hearing, and grants tremor resistance. The Rocksteady Mantle also protects hunters so they receive less damage. The Challenger Mantle prompts monsters to target the hunter more often and makes them easier to lure with the effect expiring after being attacked.
On the offensive side, Hunters can utilize a new item called the Slinger in combat. This wrist-mounted slingshot that allows hunters to fire a grappling hook to traverse or interact with environmental obstacles. The Slinger can be used to fire rocks and other items at monsters.
Gathering and using items in Monster Hunter: World has been streamlined allowing for Hunters to quickly obtain items in the field. Hunters can interact with flora and fauna in various ways, like the Vigorwasps that can be used to recover health or the Paratoads which will produce a paralyzing toxin. New guides known as Scoutflies are used to track monsters. By gathering monster samples on the field, such as drool, mucus, or footprints, Scoutflies hone in on the exact location to monsters. Scoutflies can also be used to guide players to selected areas on the map, such as specific flowers or fauna. Hunters can now hunt freely without being limited to a main objective or questline. Once the quest is complete, Hunters can choose to continue exploring the area via Expedition Mode.
The Hunter’s felyne sidekick, the Palico, can interact with other felyne clans, such as the Grimalkynes. By doing so, the Palico can learn the language of small monsters, like Jagras and Kestodon, and befriend them. During hunts, the Palico may befriend a small monster which will then aid the player.
Hunters can register equipment pieces they wish to craft by using the Wishlist. The wishlist displays the equipment’s material requirements and can be reviewed at any time, hunters will receive a notification when all the required materials have been obtained.. Charms can be crafted and upgraded by using materials.. Some armor sets possess a unique skill that can only be obtained by wearing enough pieces of the equipment set.. The Handler can make meals for the hunter at the Base Camp by using food items, such as Raw Meat.. She may also give an additional item like Rations. This depends on the items that the hunter uses.
