Отличия от Xenoblade Chronicles
Конечно, говоря о новой Xenoblade, нельзя не сравнить её с предшественником. Тем более, у нас тут действительно многое поменялось.
Прежде всего, как мы уже упомянули, XCX — это не сюжетное продолжение XC. Да, игра испове-дует схожий подход во многих аспектах, но кроме расы нопонов (Nopon) ничего знакомого из флоры или фауны мы здесь не увидим.
Более того, наш герой теперь не персонализирован. Если в XC приходится долго привыкать к главному герою Шулку (знаю, что многие так и не привыкли к нему до самого конца игры — весьма своеобразный персонаж), то здесь первым делом надо самостоятельно создать своего героя — вы-брать ему пол, внешность, ну и так далее. Голос героя присутствует лишь в битве, в диалогах его нет.
Тем не менее, мы сможем принимать кое-какие решения — больше, чем раньше. Не то, чтобы эти решения сильно повлияли на сюжет, но всё-таки. Даже беззвучные реплики выбирать сможем. В чём-то выбор можно сравнить с диалогами в стиле BioWare — на выбор нам даётся несколько вариантов эмоций, но не готовых реплик. Хотя достаточно подробное описание, о чём примерно вы скажете собеседнику, даётся. Саму реплику, впрочем, всё равно не увидим и не услышим.
Кстати, в целом болтовни стало больше. Ролики длиннее, речь других персонажей пространнее. В чём-то диалоги напомнили мне игру Monster Hunter — персонажи отвлекаются на посторонние темы, делают заведомо неудачные попытки шутить, и в целом нередко хочется поскорее всю эту болтовню промотать ибо серьёзно внимать каждому слову ну просто невозможно. Тут бы, конечно, следовало дать разработчикам по рукам — да, в японских играх принято много разговаривать, но та же Xenoblade Chronicles брала за живое как раз весьма необычной для jRPG подачей: в минимуме слов разработчики уместили максимум сюжета и эмоций героев.
Оружие героев теперь бывает двух видов, а не одного, как раньше: огнестрельное и ближнего боя. Между двумя видами оружия можно переключаться кнопкой Х хоть во время боя, хоть во время изучения мира. В остальном система боя не сильно изменилась — и это хорошо. Только вот всевоз-можных параметров стало гораздо больше — Xenoblade стала более тактической, хотя пошаговых боёв здесь нет и во время боя мы по-прежнему управляем только одним персонажем, а другим лишь отдаём общие команды (команд тоже стало больше).
Ещё одно важное отличие — менять лидера партии теперь нельзя. Наш герой теперь несменный лидер
Может это и к лучшему. В конце концов, нам же дали в начале игры возможность самим его создать, так?
Что касается мира игры, то он стал ещё более массивным, «швов» (подзагрузок между локациями) стало меньше, да и сами локации сильно выросли во всех измерениях. Если в XC сюжет вёл нас из одной локации в другую последовательно, и возвращались мы только по воле внесюжетных квестов, то здесь уже больше общего с привычными RPG в открытом мире.
Есть негласный центр — город Новый Лос-Анджелес, основанный на месте крушения жилищного блока ковчега «Белый Кит». В городе мы берём основную порцию квестов, как сюжетных, так и вне-сюжетных, здесь же — магазины, подбор компаньонов в партию и т.д. Оснастив себя по полной вы-ходим в «поля» для выполнения заданий.
На горизонте — Новый Лос-Анджелес
В «полях» нам попадаются не только монстры (респаунятся рандомно, но в рамках своего ареала обитания — даже не пытайтесь полностью зачистить какую-то локацию от монстров), но и другие как дружественные, так и недружественные персонажи. Иногда даже можно напороться на кого-нибудь с квестом (на карте помечаются оранжевым знаком вопроса).
Время, как и в прошлой части, отсутствует как таковое, при том, что смену дня и ночи оставили. То есть, мы можем менять показания часов хоть вперёд, хоть назад — на ход событий это не влияет, разве что, меняется время суток. Последнее влияет на расположение персонажей и монстров — люди ночью, как правило, спят, зато появляются более агрессивные монстры.
Только вот если раньше мы могли менять время когда угодно, то теперь для этого придётся найти полевой лагерь. И это, надо сказать, пошло игре только на пользу — интереснее стало как-то, что ли.
Да и со сторонними квестами дела наладились. Во-первых, один и тот же персонаж теперь не выдаёт десяток квестов за раз. Во-вторых, сами сторонние квесты больше не выглядят как придаток к игре и некий бонус-контент, а органично вписаны в геймплей.

Appearance
Pneuma’s physique is identical to Pyra’s and Mythra’s, although she has long, green hair tied in a ponytail and green eyes. She wears a silver tiara and a white, blue and green plate armor with emerald green crystal-like ornamentation, matching Rex’s master Driver armor. When using ether attacks, an emerald lattice of energy surrounds her.
«Πνευμα» is written on her chest — Pneuma in Greek — with the text of Proverbs 4:18 in Latin beneath it: «The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day».
Pneuma’s sword is silver, with a ring near its handle. When activated, the entire sword glows with green ether energy.

Some Art Changes Explanation
Here we explain some of the drastic changes to some arts we had after the updates.

We originally placed Thunder Bullet as Sharla’s main damaging skill. We instead focused her art skills to healing and survivability which is why it was moved down to B tier. |
Enchant |
Enchant is a great art and it should be maxed out, At first glance atleast. Enchant’s duration is already off the charts at lower levels and leveling it gives your allies a measly 50 damage buff per level. |
Head Shot |
Sharla is a bad character for Chain Attacks but Head Shot solves that problem (somehow). Head Shot together with a x2 or x3 multiplier can deal tons of damage and allows a physical art team to reach a x5 multiplier. |
Say Sorry |
Originally an S tier art, we moved Say Sorry down to B tier since the damage it provides doesn’t justify the removal of enemy debuffs. Specially when it can even remove topple and Daze which you don’t really want to happen. |
Aura Bullet |
10 second buff for an existing aura. We originally thought it’s great since it allows aura users to further abuse their aura art. But after a while, it becomes too unwieldy and most of the time, becomes a useless art if no ally has any auras up. |
Metal Blast |
Metal Blast follows the same problem as Thunder Bullet. We switched up her healing arts above (with the exception of Head Shot) and moved almost everything below. |
Lock-On |
We bumped up Lock-On to S tier due to Seven’s insane tanking capability with it. Lock on forces the target to fight you but it’s true worth lies in it’s 50% critical chance buff. With Critical Drain, this allows Seven to regain massive amounts of HP without any healers to help her. |
Dunban’s Aura Skills | We put 4 of Dunban’s aura to a high tier due to their sheer effectiveness. But do note that you can only have 1 aura active at all time so it is wise to choose at most, 2 among the four suggested auras to level up. |
Thunder |
Thunder is a niche Art in that it requires a condition to be used. It can be easily used by comboing with Tempest Kick but the AIs inability to be able to use this art properly made it reach the C tier. Only level up Thunder if you plan to use Dunban as a party leader. |

- Rex, Tora, and Mòrag are the only playable Drivers that have more than one special Blade: Rex having Pyra, Mythra, Roc, and Nia in Blade form; Tora having Poppi α, Poppi QT, and Poppi QTπ; Mòrag having Brighid and Aegaeon.
- In the English localization of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, nearly all Blades speak with North American accents. By contrast, most of the game’s non-Blade cultures (the Indoline and Urayans being noticeable exceptions) speak with accents of English native to the British Isles. This is slightly ironic given that Skye Bennett, the English actress for Pyra and Mythra, speaks in an American accent for both despite being British herself. There are some exceptions to this — Dromarch and Nia are voiced with English and Welsh accents — while Mikhail, who is a human Blade Eater, has a North American accent.
- In an interview with Tetsuya Takahashi, director of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it was stated that Blades were originally going to look like Ultraman, but they were shrunk because it would not be possible to show something forty meters tall on screen.

Prologue: Awakening
Earth under attack
The game begins showing two alien races fighting a massive battle over Earth in July 2054. Due to the imminent war, the Coalition government launched the Project Exodus, namely the Earthlife Colonization Project. The planet is left devastated and humanity seeks out new worlds in massive interstellar arks. Unfortunately, most of these ark ships are shot down while trying to escape Earth’s gravitational field, and only a few make it out.
The White Whale crashing into Mira
After two years journeying through space, the aliens’ pursuit forces find the White Whale, the American ark ship, and attack it as it approaches a planet called Mira. Thanks to the efforts of the military and Elma’s superior, the attack is repelled; however, the fierce battle causes massive damage to the engine of the White Whale, and the ark ship crashes on the planet. Many of the cryogenically frozen humans aboard are ejected in escape pods, which then scatter over a wide area on the planet. Presumably as a safety precaution against an occupant awakening in a hostile environment, the pods keep their occupants in stasis until manually activated from the outside.
Meeting Elma for the first time
Gameplay begins two months after the crash, when Elma awakens Cross from one of these pods near Starfall Basin in Primordia on a stormy night. Soon afterwards, the duo encounters the Origin Blatta. After defeating it, they venture out of Starfall Basin. Upon exiting, the weather changes to a clear day.
Walking into New Los Angeles
Cross and Elma then make their way to the entrance to New Los Angeles, where they encounter the Elder Grex and Callow Grexes. After defeating the Grexes, the duo enter New Los Angeles, the city that was being carried by the White Whale and the prologue ends.

Trivia
- Being Yumea’s child, she is also Kallian’s half sister. Melia is also Kallian’s half sister through their father Emperor Sorean, but Tyrea and Melia do not share parents and are not directly related to one another.
- Melancholy Tyrea is the only quest to feature fully voiced cutscenes. It is also the only point in the main game that Tyrea is seen without her mask on.
- In the Tomb, she will usually start attacking one of the characters that the player is not controlling.
- As she is of Bionis origin, the Monado will not deal much damage (only yielding 1 point of damage at a time). Because of this, players are advised to defeat the Solidum Telethia first.
- Tyrea and her Telethia are both at level 38.
- She can fly using her wings, a skill demonstrated by no other High Entia.
- Tyrea is the daughter of Yumea and a supposedly pure High Entia male, and was conceived in a special ceremony of the Bionite Order. It was later discovered that her father was actually half-Homs, despite his pureblood appearance. Her mother knew this but, for unknown reasons, kept her.
- While Tyrea and Melia both have High Entia and Homs ancestry, Tyrea has three-fourth High Entia ancestry due to being the daughter of her pureblooded mother Yumea and her half-Homs father.
- In Future Connected, Tyrea takes part in two Quiet Moments, being the first non-playable character to do so.

Reyn’s Talent Art
Reyn acts mainly as a tank, being able to easily attract the aggro of enemies and the ability to wield heavy armour and defense increasing weapons. Reyn’s high HP and the debuffs that some of his arts cause allows him to further improve his survivability against enemy damage. He is also gifted with multiple Aura abilities that can turn him into an offensive powerhouse, defensive target, or prevent himself from getting incapacitated, and is one of the two party members (apart from Shulk) capable of Toppling and Dazing enemies quickly. This grants him excellent staying power and crowd control, which allows the other members of the party to rip into enemies without fear of retaliation.
However, as he is the designated «Tanking» character, Reyn is reliant on healing to keep him on the front lines, often necessitating a healer to fight alongside him during tougher battles.
