Installation and Usage

• You now have 4 options:
  • Get the latest release available from the releases page. These are the latest releases that might not have yet been inspected by the Overwolf QA team.
  • Get any other available build from the build-artifacts. These builds are automatically created and might be very unstable, but will contain the newest features. This requires being logged into GitHub to download.
    • Go to the page
    • Click on the build you are interested in (higher is more recent).
    • Download the at the bottom of the page. This will contain the produced file.
• Install the application.
• Make sure that Overwolf is enabled for New World:
  • Right click the Overwolf tray icon.
  • Open settings.
  • Navigate to Overlay & Hotkeys.
  • Make sure that the New World switch is enabled.
• Start the game, the minimap should now appear.
• If you want to change the settings, right click anywhere on the overlay.
• If you want to open the desktop app to use on your second monitor, click the icon in the top right of the overlay.

How to install Xaero’s Minimap Mod

• You have already installed Minecraft Forge.
• Locate the Minecraft application folder.
• On windows open Run from the start menu > type %appdata% > click Run.
• On mac open finder, hold down ALT > click Go then Library in the top menu bar.
• Open the folder Application Support > look for Minecraft.
• Place the mod you have just Xaero’s Minimap Mod downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
• When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the Xaero’s Minimap Mod is installed.

Les fonctionnalités de Xaero’s Minimap

• Le mod est disponible en plusieurs langues.
• Selon le créateur, cette minimap est la plus fluide de toutes.
• 2 couleurs pour la minimap sont disponibles : « Vanilla » et « Accurate ».
• La minimap s’intègre parfaitement au jeu.
• Le mod va fonctionner parfaitement avec de nombreux autres mods.
• Selon où vous êtes, en surface ou en profondeur, il est possible que la carte montre les donjons et les cavernes.
• Toutes les options suivantes sont configurables.
• Si vous vous dirigez vers l’Est, il est possible de « bloquer » la minimap sur l’Est pour éviter sa rotation.
• Il est possible de faire apparaître les délimitations des chunks, ainsi que les chunks à slimes.
• Il est possible d’afficher les coordonnées en dessous de la minimap ainsi que le biome où vous êtes.
• Il est possible de modifier la taille, l’emplacement et la disposition de la minimap selon vos choix.
• Il est possible d’afficher : les monstres d’une couleur jaune, les joueurs d’une couleur blanche, les objets d’une couleur rouge et les entités telles que les flèches en violet.
• Un système de zoom est disponible, vous pourrez zoomer ou dézoomer via respectivement les touches I et O par défaut.
• Waypoints : les waypoints sont des points de coordonnées qui seront définissables via la touche B. Vous pourrez les nommer comme bon vous semble. Cela vous permet de ne pas vous perdre, par exemple vous pouvez mettre un waypoint « Base » ou encore « Farm ». La liste de ces waypoints sera disponible en appuyant sur la touche U et ils seront visibles sur la minimap. Si vous avez les permissions nécessaires (en solo ou OP sur serveur), il sera possible de se téléporter à ces waypoints.
• Lorsque vous mourrez, ce que je ne vous souhaite pas, un waypoint appelé « Deathpoint » sera automatiquement créé à l’endroit où vous êtes mort. Une idée qui est superbe pour les personnes risquant souvent leur vie.

Development

Currently, the Overwolf version of the application is the only supported one. The .NET application is considered legacy. This section will only contain information on how to develop the Overwolf application.

Building and running

1. Open a terminal in the directory of this repository.
2. Run yarn install to download and install the required dependencies.
3. To build the application, you have two options:
   1. yarn watch will continuously build the application whenever there is an update. This is the recommended command.
   2. yarn build will build the application once.
   3. yarn build:prod will also build the application once, but it will be a production build. This allows for optimizations, such as minification, and a production build of React (which is faster). Source maps are included, and an .opk (Overwolf package) file is also generated.
4. Go to Overwolf Settings — About — Development options to open the Overwolf developer tools.
5. Select Load unpacked extension… and navigate to the directory of this repository. It contains the build output if the build was successful. You may get an error at this step, see below for more information.
6. Enable the Overwolf overlay for New World. Go to Overwolf settings — Overlay & Hotkeys, and enable the switch for New World. The application icon should appear beside the name of the game.
7. Launch the application from the Overwolf dock, or launch the game to see the app in action.

When loading an unpacked extension, you might encounter an error where Overwolf will not allow you to load an unauthorized extension.
When this happens, you need to make two modifications to the file .
The fields and should be updated to have the values and respectively; using these values allows you to use the unpacked extension.
In short, the manifest should look somewhat like the following:

Rebuild the application after making the required changes to the application manifest.

Development

Although there are no real requirements for developing the app, a nice editor is Visual Studio Code.
It offers integration with TypeScript, the language used for the extension.
If you decide to use Visual Studio Code, make sure to open the directory in VSCode.
Opening the repository root will work as well, but ESLint probably won’t play nice then.

Should you decide to open the directory in VSCode, chances are you’ll get a popup with some recommended extensions. These will help find code smells, or make the code adhere to this repository’s style configuration.
You can use the built-in terminal to run commands such as to automatically run webpack in watch mode, continuously building the application when a change is detected.
