Breaking
Dripstone blocks require a pickaxe to be mined, in which case it drops itself. When mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. It can be blown up by TNT, in which case it also drops itself.

Natural generation
Dripstone blocks can be found in dripstone caves. Clusters of dripstone blocks can also rarely generate in other cave types.
Dripstone clusters can generate with stalactites, stalagmites, or stalagnates (joined stalactite and stalagmite). These may be bordered by similar dripstone blocks. These tend to generate in more open sections of the new caves, regardless of biome.
Trading
In Java Edition, journeyman-level stone mason villagers have a 2⁄7 chance to sell 4 dripstone blocks for one emerald as part of their trades.
In Bedrock Edition, journeyman-level stone mason villagers have a 1⁄4 chance to sell 4 dripstone blocks for one emerald as part of their trades.

Stoneblock 2 Tips & Tricks
- Loot bags from mob drops and quest rewards are quite overpowered. They are a good way to get late-game items at the beginning.
- Auto hammers and auto sieves can hammer and sift your gravel, sand, dirt, and dust for you automatically.
- Bonsai pots are a good way to automate wood and paper (paperbark trees).
- Luminous blocks are very good for making fake skys, clouds, suns, and moons.
Fake sky using blue luminous blocks.
- There are more powerful heat sources to put under your crucible as torches are very slow in this pack. An easy heat source is a uranium block from uranium ore in the mining dimension.
- Open chance cubes (obtained from loot bags) in the mining dimension or the end to get extra loot. Don’t open them in your main world as they are unpredictable.
- Food in this modpack is harder to get and basic food barely fills the hunger bar. Zombie brains and apples are the best early-game food sources.
- Hold down the ~ key when mining to vein mine, it will break all identical nearby blocks in one mine.
- Compressing sand, dirt, gravel, and dust will make sifting more efficient and faster.
- Slime trees are a good source of slime, slime saplings can be obtained from loot bags.
- A kitchen sink block can be used as an infinite water source for your cloches.
- The mystical agriculture furnaces are amazing for speeding up smelting.
- Sieves can be placed next to each other in a 3×3 grid. Sifting the middle sieve will sift through all of the sieves at the same time.
- Growth crystals dramatically speed up mystical agriculture crops. Use them with a farming station.
- Acceleration wands can speed up crop growth and chickens.
- Garden cloches are good for early-game farming, but growth crystal + farming station is faster in late game.

Usage[]
A block of redstone can be used as a and can be crafted back into redstone. It can also be used as storage if the player’s inventory is full of redstone dust from mining.
Crafting ingredient
Blocks of redstone can be crafted back into redstone, and thus provide compact storage for redstone like other blocks of minerals (block of iron, block of gold, etc.).
Name | Ingredients | Crafting recipe |
---|---|---|
Redstone Dust | Block of Redstone |
Redstone component
A block of redstone powers dust and repeaters, deactivates attached torches, and activate mechanisms (left) – but does not power adjacent opaque blocks (right).
See also: Redstone circuit
To place a block of redstone, use the Place Block control.
Blocks of redstone are always active and cannot be turned off. A block of redstone:
- powers any adjacent redstone dust, including above or below, to 15
- powers any adjacent redstone comparators or redstone repeaters facing away from the block of redstone to power level 15
- activates any adjacent mechanism components (doors, redstone lamps, etc.), including above or below, with the exception of pistons, which cannot be activated by any power source directly in front of them
Adjacent opaque blocks are not powered.
If a redstone torch is attached to a block of redstone, it deactivates after 1 redstone tick and does not reactivate (which is normal behavior for a redstone torch attached to a powered block).
A block of redstone can be moved by a piston. Water and lava flows around a block of redstone without affecting it.
Obtaining[]
Cobblestone requires a pickaxe to be mined, in which case it drops itself. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing. Its hardness is greater than stone so it requires more time to break, especially with anything other than a pickaxe.

- Times are for unenchanted tools as wielded by players with no status effects, measured in seconds. For more information, see .
Cobblestone is dropped by stone when mined without Silk Touch, and also by infested cobblestone when mined with Silk Touch.
Natural generation
Cobblestone occurs naturally in dungeons, jungle temples, pillager outposts, underwater ruins, strongholds, plains, taiga and snowy tundra villages, and woodland mansions.
Post-generation
See also: Tutorials/Cobblestone farming
When water and flowing lava come into contact, the flowing lava is replaced by cobblestone. However, if the lava flows on top of the water from above, stone is created instead. Non-flowing lava (a lava source block) turns into obsidian upon contact with water, thus the requirement of flowing lava.
Usage[]
Blackstone can be used as a substitute for cobblestone in the Nether as it can be used to craft stone tools, brewing stands, and furnaces. It can also be used to repair stone tools using an anvil [Java Edition only]. It can also be used to craft polished blackstone.
Blackstone cannot be used to craft dispensers, droppers, pistons, or other blocks that use cobblestone in their recipes. This is intended per .

Tips[]
- When in a Hardmode biome, it can be easy to spot these naturally generated Active Stone Blocks if the surrounding blocks are in Corruption, Crimson or Hallow because, unlike regular stone blocks, they cannot be corrupted.
- Even without the Mechanic (required to obtain wiring tools), this item still has use if harvested from naturally-occurring Boulder traps underground. The player can select this item in the hotbar to see a layout of all wires on screen, which is useful for detecting and avoiding natural traps.
- A vertical strip of three Active Stone Blocks wired to a nearby Switch or Lever serves as a good alternative to doors that only players can open. NPCs will not be able to use them to stray outside, and no enemy can ever open them. Note that this will not fulfill a house’s entrance requirement, so at least one actual door will still be required in order for an NPC to move in (though the door need not lead «outside», and can merely open into another room of a larger structure). Using Blue Pressure Plates on either side causes the «door» to turn inactive for a moment, then return to active the very instant the player reaches the other side. As Blue Pressure Plates are only triggered by players, this can also keep Zombies and such out during a Blood Moon
It is also possible to make an airlock-type double door system using 3 Active Stone Blocks and 3 Inactive Stone Blocks (or 6 of one or the other and activating only one side inactive/active) while still only allowing access for players only. This is useful for underground housing to keep underground enemies out.
.
- To conserve storage space, consider switching all Inactive Stone Blocks to Active Stone Blocks, or vice versa. This can easily save an inventory or storage slot by combining the stacks.
